The Billing Tab will show varying content depending on whether your website is under the Deflect business tier or the Deflect non-profits tier.
Deflect Business Tier #
You can view the plan to which your website is currently subscribed. Deflect’s business subscription is on a per-site basis, not per-account. Hence, a single account can simultaneously maintain both business tier website and non-profits tier website.
Update Payment Methods and Billing Information #
Clicking the “Manage Subscription” button will lead you to the Stripe Customer Portal. Here you have the option to either add a new payment method or delete an existing one.
You also have the option to update the name as well as the billing address on the invoice. Please be aware that updating the billing address might affect the tax calculation on subsequent invoices.
Cancel Subscription #
Clicking the “Manage Subscription” button will lead you to the Stripe Customer Portal. Here you have the option to cancel your subscription. Pay attention if you have multiple subscription, see the next section for details.
Upon cancelling your subscription, it will remain active until the end of the billing cycle and you will be billed based on your usage – measured by unique IP, unless you are in the free trial period.
Multiple subscription #
If your account includes multiple Deflect business sites, expect to see multiple subscriptions within the Stripe customer portal. To cancel the correct subscription, remember to read the label.
Historical Invoices #
Within the Stripe Customer Portal, a record of past invoices is accessible for viewing and can be downloaded. If you’re a Deflect Business client who enrolled prior to August 2025 and wish to access your historical invoice before this specified date, please reach out to Deflect Support.
Deflect Non-profits Tier #
Deflect for non-profits is provided free of charge to civil society groups and individuals working to defend human rights and create independent media. However, you could choose to upgrade to Deflect business to support Deflect’s work.
